TATTOO APPOINTMENT PREP
When you book with me, Amanda Lugo, at RARE PANDA Tats inside Neon Rainbow in Ocala, you are not just getting a beautiful tattoo. You are getting a professional, comfortable, and personalized experience. Here is what to know before your appointment:
What to Bring
-
A Valid Photo ID: You must have a government-issued photo ID. Minors as young as 16 years may be tattooed with parent consent, parent supervision, and a notarized consent form. You can print the form out and have it notarized before your appointment. That form can be found here: Florida Minor Tattoo Consent Form.
-
A Form of Payment: I accept cash and major credit/debit cards.
-
Snacks & Drinks: Especially for longer sessions, bring something small to eat and drink to keep your energy up.
-
Entertainment: Feel free to bring headphones, a book, or something to help pass the time, especially if you like a distraction.
-
Patience and an Open Mind: I work hard to create a positive, low-stress environment while holding space for whatever emotions you bring with you.
What to Wear
-
Dress for Access: Wear something that allows easy access to the area being tattooed (tank tops for arms, shorts for legs, button-downs for back tattoos).
-
Dark or Old Clothing: Tattoo ink can stain, so avoid your favorite outfit.
-
Comfort is Key: You will be sitting or lying in one position for a while. Choose soft, non-restrictive clothing.
-
Layers: The studio is climate-controlled, but your comfort matters. Bring a sweater if you tend to get cold. We also offer clean and warm blankets when it makes sense for the placement of your tattoo.
-
No Spray Tans or Lotions: Avoid applying anything to your skin the day of the appointment. Fresh, clean skin is best.
Studio Policy for Minors
Each tattoo studio reserves the right to place limitations on tattoo placement for minors. At Neon Rainbow, minors are restricted from getting tattoos on certain placements, including but not limited to the face, neck, or below the elbow. You are welcome to consult with me to determine what is appropriate for you and what I can tattoo in good conscience.
A Few Extra Tips
-
Eat a good meal beforehand. Do not come in on an empty stomach.
-
Avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours before your appointment.
-
If you are feeling unwell, please reschedule. Your health and mine come first.
Tattoo Aftercare
Right after your tattoo, I will discuss with you your options for how to leave the studio with your new piece. Depending on many factors, your tattoo may remain uncovered, wrapped in a temporary bandage to be removed when you get home, or sealed in a longer-term bandage called Second Skin.
We do not use plastic wrap, we do not recommend Aquaphor, and we now use Second Skin in place of Saniderm.
